Privacy policy
networkd. Last updated 17 October 2026.
The short version: we collect only what we need to run the networkd community, we never sell your data, and you can ask us to delete it at any time by emailing hello@networkd.co.uk.
Who we are
networkd is run by networkd Community Limited, registered in England and Wales, company number 16948160, registered office 71-75 Shelton Street, London WC2H 9JQ. networkd Community Limited is the data controller, which means it decides how your personal data is used and is responsible for looking after it. You can reach us at hello@networkd.co.uk.
What we collect
When you apply to join networkd, we ask for your name, email address, LinkedIn profile, what best describes you (founder, investor, advisor or mentor, service provider), your stage, what you are looking for, and what you can offer.
When you enquire about sponsorship or partnership, we ask for your name, email address, company, the package you are interested in, and your message.
When you book an event, you book through Luma, and Luma's own privacy policy applies to what it collects. We can see who has registered so we can run the event and keep in touch about it.
When you join the networkd WhatsApp community, WhatsApp shows us your name and phone number, and we can see what you share there. WhatsApp's own terms and privacy policy apply.
If we arrange a call with you, we book it through Calendly, which collects your name and email address. Calendly's own privacy policy applies.
We do not use analytics, advertising cookies or any other tracking on this website. The only cookie it sets keeps Jan signed in to the admin area. The events page shows our calendar from Luma, which may set its own cookies. If we ever add tracking, we will ask for your consent first, with a clear way to say no.
What we use it for
- To read and reply to your application or enquiry: you asked us for something, and we are responding.
- To run the community: reviewing applications, making introductions, inviting you to events and keeping in touch. This is our legitimate interest, and it is what networkd exists to do.
- To send you news or marketing, only if you have said yes. That is consent, and you can withdraw it any time.
- To share your details with a sponsor, only when you have chosen to opt in, for example the attendee list from an event you registered for. That is consent too.
We never sell your data, and we never share it for someone else's marketing.
Who sees it
- Jan, and the people who help her run networkd.
- Other members of the community, but only as part of an introduction you have agreed to.
- Sponsors and partners, only what you have opted in to share.
- The services we use to run things: our website hosting and database, Luma for events, Calendly for calls, WhatsApp for the community, and Google for email and our community records. Each processes data under its own privacy terms. Some store data outside the UK, and where that happens it is covered by the safeguards UK law recognises for international transfers.
How long we keep it
We keep your details while you are a member or we are in touch. If you apply but do not join, we delete your answers within 12 months. If you leave the community, we delete your details within 12 months of you leaving. If we ever hold payment or financial records, we keep those for 7 years because the law requires it. You can ask us to delete your data sooner and we will, unless the law says we have to keep it.
How we keep it safe
Access to your data is limited to the people who need it to run the community. We use established services with their own security measures, and we do not collect more than we need.
Your rights
You can ask us at any time to:
- show you the data we hold about you
- correct anything that is wrong
- delete your data
- stop or restrict how we use it
- give you a copy to take elsewhere
- withdraw any consent you have given
Email hello@networkd.co.uk and we will respond within one month, usually much sooner.
If you are not happy
You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK regulator for data protection: ico.org.uk, 0303 123 1113, or Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF. We would always rather you came to us first, so we can put things right.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, the new version will appear on this page with the date it changed.
